About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Addiction Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II. I have a master’s degree in Professional Counseling and a master’s degree in School Counseling. I am currently working towards BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance) certification in Neurofeedback. I am a member of the ACA (American Counseling Association), EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association), and ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation). I worked at Arapahoe House in the residential treatment center helping people learn how to fight addiction. Prior to this, I was a high school counselor for 2 years and taught high school and middle school mathematics for 15 years. I have been drawn to counseling after working through my own addiction, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I want to be able to help others deal with these issues and more.

I am married and have 2 daughters, 1 stepdaughter, 1 stepson, and 3 son-in-laws. I also have 2 miniature Australian Shepherds. One of them is an adult therapy dog named Ember. She is a blue merle with blue eyes and is very sweet. Another is a puppy in training to be a therapy dog whose name is Quin. I enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, and reading (when I can find the time). I have lived in Colorado since 2007 and am a transplant from Arizona, where I spent most of my early years.

“As long as you look for someone else to validate who you are by seeking their approval, you are setting yourself up for disaster. You have to be whole and complete in yourself. No one can give you that. You have to know who you are – what others say is irrelevant.”― Nic Sheff
